JUNE FRENCH CUSTOMS DELAYS

Just a little info for anyone interested, I’ve just read that there will be a few strikes in France this month.

For us, the main one is customs at all ports, although I have spoken to our customs offices in France, there are no imminent stoppages, but according to a French online paper (the conexion), the strikes could be closer than we think. We have made a short video to explain how thing may affect you and giving you the dates.

We are monitoring this in real time and will update you when we get the full details.

Other things to worry about on mainland Europe are farmer disputes on the borders of France and Spain about energy taxes on agricultural, food safety, a revision of agricultural taxation and financial aid for solar panels.

It has taken us a while, but we have finally done it, after DFDS stopped covering the Uk for its Temperature controlled groupage service, we have been working on this together with ex-employees of DFDS Belgium, we can now finally announce that the service is now live and you are able to book with us for from 1 pallet upwards of temperature controlled goods.

Last week we collected 2 Ventilators to take to Jersey General hospital, as part of the fight against Covid-19

It took a lot of hard work to organise due to the lock down.

Anyone that travels into Jersey must go into Quarantine for 14 days. So, this wasn’t just an ordinary delivery.

After 2 days of constant work to find a solution, we organised a vehicle to collect from our customer in the North East & deliver to Portsmouth, where another vehicle was waiting. This vehicle was driven onto the ferry and the driver left the vehicle on the ferry.

When the Ferry docked another driver who lives in Jersey picked the vehicle up at 10pm on Saturday night and delivered straight to the hospital that night.
